Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club, a Members’ Club with an 18-hole Championship Links, and regarded as one of the finest in the world, is delighted to welcome visitors. We are a two-ball Club, with three and four-ball play permitted on Mondays and Thursdays. 

The Clubhouse was built in 1892, a few months after the foundation of the 9-hole course. Since then, the building has been renovated on numerous occasions and today we have a traditional Clubhouse which offers modern facilities and top-class hospitality. The Club offers a wide selection of dishes, which are seasonal, fresh and locally sourced. Our team of chefs are happy to create bespoke menus to suit any occasion.

Founded in 1887 by Dr. William Laidlaw Purves, Royal St George’s was created to bring the spirit and traditions of St Andrews to the South of England.  It became the first course outside of Scotland to host The Open Championship in 1894 and in 1902 was granted its’ ‘Royal’ status by King Edward VII. Royal St George's has hosted The Open Championship 15 times — more than any other course outside of Scotland. The Club has also welcomed The Amateur Championship 15 times, a distinction shared only with St Andrews. The extraordinary natural layout among amazing duneland along the shoreline of the bay of Sandwich, features many holes with blind or partially blind shot.  The layout is not a traditional one as such, as each nine flows in a circular figure 8 pattern. Royal St George's requires confidence and accurate driving to avoid challenging spots and situations, such as the UK's tallest and deepest bunker on the 4th hole. The par-4 hole is carved into the side of an enormous dune and plays into the prevailing wind.  You will enjoy the significant beauty and challenge of the hole.  Add to that, "The Maiden", as the par-3 6th is known, with its craggy landscape and and amazing challenging approach to the green, adds to the lore of the front nine holes playing over, around and on the dunes. 

Royal St George's is considered one of the true great courses in the world. The coastal views are spectacular and the course blends naturally into the beautiful surroundings.  Simply an amazing experience for golfers to follow in the footsteps of the greats of the gam efor a truly memorable round.
