  • Laguna Golf Course
    Caminho da Fonte do Ulme
    Vilamoura, 8125-406
    Quarteira

Dom Pedro Laguna Golf Course has earned a reputation as being a somewhat unique offering within the Vilamoura golf portfolio. While it has many water hazards, it truly finds its individuality in the number of holes which convey characteristics of a traditional costal links layout.

American golf course architect Joseph Lee was given the responsibility for setting out Dom Pedro Laguna Course over low-lying coastal terrain, and in this setting was able to establish 18 holes which offer a wide variety of playing conditions.

The course has been continually improved since the first ball was struck in 1990, although it retains all of the appeal of a modern test of golf, through which the strategic positioning of bunkers and a number of water obstacles demand accuracy of play. Dom Pedro Laguna Golf Course shares a well-proportioned and welcoming clubhouse with the neighboring Millennium Golf Course.

  • Millennium Golf Course
    Caminho da Fonte do Ulme
    Vilamoura, 8125-406
    Quarteira

Boasting a unique position within the Vilamoura portfolio, it is often asserted that the creation of the Dom Pedro Millennium Golf Course was pivotal in cementing the status of this region as one of Europe’s most-visited and best-loved for golf.

Opened in the year 2000 - comprising nine brand new holes and a refurbished inward half which had previously formed part of the original 27-hole Dom Pedro Laguna Golf Course - this is a more open course than its neighbors, although holes 3-7 are designed in the traditional Algarvian mode, meandering through the towering pines. For many, this stretch bears a resemblance to fairways of Dom Pedro Old Course Golf Club and Dom Pedro Pinhal Golf Course, where landing areas grow narrower, requiring greater accuracy. A number of lakes, particularly interestingly on 17 and 18, enrich the remaining holes of the Dom Pedro Millennium Golf Course, providing some great risk and reward golf scenarios.

The course offers a true blend of classic and modern golf course design, providing a great fair test of golf for all abilities.

    8100-397
    Querença

A golf experience where we truly play the land. Our signature course was designed by Jorge Santana da Silva, who followed a sustainable vision to complement and enhance the natural landscape. Weaving around ancient rivers and trees that have stood for generations, it has achieved the standards of golf’s most prestigious ecolabel certifications and created a naturally diverse setting for a truly memorable round of golf. Concerns and expectations of sustainability are growing in all walks of life, and the golf community is no different, now looking to contribute more, for the welfare of nature and communities - and for the good of the game. To protect the rich natural biodiversity that surrounds us, we have minimized the use of natural resources and built on less than a quarter of the total resort area, with the greens and fairways of our golf course designed to blend seamlessly into the environment surrounding them by repopulating indigenous tree and plant species. The course has been woven around ancient rivers and trees that have stood for generations, which has led to our golf course being recognized with the GEO Foundation certification.

You will not want to miss that landmark course which brings remarkable surroundings into the experience, with unforgettable backdroops that play an active role in every stroke.

  • Palmares
    Campo de Golfe de Palmares
    8600 Odiaxere

Within the natural amphitheater of the Bay of Lagos, Robert Trent Jones II has fashioned Europe’s next great golf course, Palmares Golf. The brief given to this exceptional American golf course designer was to craft a 27-hole golf course which maximized the potential of its extraordinary environment. The result is a golf course of breathtaking natural beauty which is a delight to play.

The course is a mixture of parkland and authentic links – something unique in the Algarve. The higher part of the course features unforgettable views of the Ocean and Alvor estuary. The lower holes near the beach incorporate links dunes and long grasses and the sound of the sea. Palmares Golf has stunning sea views from 90% of the tees. Few other courses in the Algarve offer you the chance to get so close to the ocean with your golf clubs! Palmares Golf was recently considered the 26th golf course in Continental Europe, and for 7 consecutive years was elected the best golf course in Portugal.

  • Pinhal Golf Course
    R. da Torre D’Água
    8125-467 Vilamoura
The second golf course to call Vilamoura home, Dom Pedro Pinhal Golf Course was opened for play in 1976 and owes its personality to both the original designer Frank Pennink, who also turned his hand to Dom Pedro Old Course Golf Club nearby, and Robert Trent Jones Sr. who made a number of significant refinements in 1985.

Pinhal Golf Course traverses undulating parkland, and has many demanding fairways lined by pine trees. However, perhaps an even more significant challenge is presented on the areas where they approach into greens. Length has recently been added on a number of holes, which ensure the test originally envisioned by Pennink is maintained. At a substantial 6,353 meters from the white tee markers, and with a par of 72, Dom Pedro Pinhal Golf Course is certainly no pushover. Golfers will be pleased to learn that the ponds and stream which come into play on five holes should not, for the most part, present a serious threat.

One of the most remarked upon features of Dom Pedro Pinhal Golf Course is the stunning panorama provided from the clubhouse, which extends over the excellent driving range and practice facilities and beyond. Completely renovated at the turn of the millennium, its veranda offers the perfect setting for post-round relaxation.

The North Course was totally redesigned in 2014, by renowned architect Beau Welling, in conjunction with former European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley.  The new layout has been built to the highest specifications.  All of the greens, tees, bunkers, irrigation and drainage systems, and cart paths have been re-built using innovative technology.  Four sets of tees have been introduced on each hole to accommodate players of all levels.  Golfers are challenged by a combination of undulating greens, well-positioned bunkers, and water hazards.  A low-cut Bermuda grass approach has been introduced around greens to create recovery shot options, therefore encouraging all levels of play.

  • Quinta do Lago - South
    Aldeamento Vilar do Golf 20
    8135-162 Faro

The South Course is the crown jewel of Quinta do Lago. Designed in 1974 by William Mitchell, who introduced American-standard greens, tees and bunkers to the Algarve. Soon the course gained a prestigious reputation and became a flagship in the European Tour Course. A favorite among European tour players, the 6,500-meter par 72 is set among umbrella pines, lakes and wild flowers, overlooking the serene Ria Formosa Natural Park.

South Course has hosted the Portuguese Open eight times, including Colin Montgomerie’s win in 1989. Having won 24 under par, he finished 11 strokes ahead and broke the world record with a round of 63.

Its championship status, however, does not deter the amateur golfer. While the 8th, 15th and 18th are testing holes for low handicap players, the course’s varying difficulty challenges golfers of all levels and abilities. Accurate tee shots are essential for reaching the greens, as the variety of doglegs and strategically located hazards increases the course’s difficulty. The front nine holes, which wind their way through the parkland, favor a draw, while the back nine, which loop around the lake, favor a fade from the tea.

    Volta do Medronho
    Vilamoura, 8125-548
    Quarteira

In the heart of Vilamoura lies the Grande Dame of Algarve courses, Dom Pedro Old Course Golf Club. As one of the first-established layouts in the region, the Frank Pennink - design is well regarded throughout the golfing world.

The layout is timeless, pure Portuguese golf at its best. Full of charm and umbrella pine trees lined fairways, golfers are awarded for accuracy throughout the course with world class green design to test every player.

The picturesque setting features a host of towering pine woods that open up to spectacular sea views and distant mountain backdrops; as well as offering a beautiful habitat for over 70 bird species, including herons, hoopoes, white storks, coots, black-winged stilts and the rare purple gallinule. The course itself is laid out in a delicate figure of eight, at the heart of which lies the San Lorenzo Clubhouse, a golf pro shop, comfortable changing facilities and a welcoming bar and restaurant.
