The 7,210-yard, par-72 course hugs huge windswept dunes and parallels the beach at the start before climbing through a thick cactus forest creased by arroyos. The back nine descends from desert foothills to the wave-tossed sea for a rousing finish. One of the defining traits of the links-style course, Solmar Golf Links (formerly Rancho San Lucas) is its revetted pot bunkers. These sharp-edged, steep-walled sandy pits, constructed from recycled artificial turf, are identical to the natural sod-walled bunkers found on British seaside courses. Tees, greens and fairways at Solmar Golf Links are surfaced in SeaDwarf Paspalum, a drought-tolerant, disease-resistant cultivar that uses a fraction of the pesticides, insecticides and fertilizer required by normal grasses. The grass responds well to lower mowing heights. The speed of ball roll on the greens is consistent and true. With comfort stations spaced around the course providing snacks and refreshments, players can enjoy an all-inclusive experience during the round. The club’s full-service practice facility features a spacious range, a large practice putting green, and dedicated chipping, pitching and sand play areas.

The Desert Course at Cabo del Sol marks one of Tom Weiskopf's first forays into Latin America. This 18-hole target-style course fuses desert, ocean and mountain terrain into a championship layout destined for world recognition. The Tom Weiskopf-designed Desert Course spans gentle rolling desert plains and boasts ocean views from every hole. Weiskopf has combined large landing areas with few forced carries to ensure an enjoyable golf experience for players of all levels yet still be challenging enough for tournament play.

Eighteen holes sit among some of the most dramatic sand dunes in the world. “You’re either playing toward the ocean, along the ocean or away from the ocean,” says course designer Davis Love III. “And then, at times, you’re down in the dunes and you pop up and are surprised all over again by the incredible views of the ocean.” The Dunes Course has received many accolades since opening in 2009, including being ranked #36 in the world by GOLF Magazine in 2017 and the #1 course in all of Mexico by Golf Digest in 2016. The Dunes is more than just a pretty course. As part of the Dunes experience, players enjoy state-of-the-art practice facilities, a Slider Bar with mini sandwiches and refreshments before tee time, and additional small plates and libations at Diamante’s signature course-side comfort stations. The golf is great, but the experience truly is something special.

 In 2014, Diamante opened up Tiger Woods’ first golf course design—El Cardonal—adding to both Diamante’s and Los Cabos’ reputation as a world-class golf destination. Influenced by the old-style courses of Southern California that he grew up playing, Tiger created a course that brings back the need for strategy—providing players with several shot options to navigate during each hole. The course is long enough to challenge expert players, but open enough to provides options for those with higher handicaps. Diamante opened its latest golf creation in December 2016—The Oasis Short Course. This Tiger Woods designed 12-hole par three course features a palapa bar, practice green, event lawn, and a mile long perimeter concrete jogging and hiking trail. The Short Course itself weaves its way through lush vegetation (including more than 400 palm trees) and over an 8-acre lake. It is ideal for families and beginners, but is also a fun practice course for experienced golfers (and is perfect for a friendly bet or two). The course was designed in accordance with Tiger’s design philosophy: to build courses that are fun and playable for all, yet challenging for the better players.The course layout is extremely flexible and can be played as a 12 hole par three course or a three-hole loop with a par 3, 4 and 5, among other potential configurations.

Home to two Senior Slams, and a host of other prestigious golf tournaments, the 6,988 yard Cabo Real Golf Course designed by Robert Trent Jones II has what is considered the toughest front nine in golf in Los Cabos. Its three spectacular ocean front holes put Cabo Real on the golf world map when whales put on a spectacular show breaching just yards offshore during the Senior Slam golf tournament. Long considered the favorite of many pros, the Cabo Real course is a must during any visit.
