Bethesda Church and Cemetery
A 17th century old church that features Old Slave Gallery, exterior bullet holes from Civil War battle and graves of area pioneer settlers. This site has been listed in the National Register and offers guided tours for groups by appointment. Admission is free.

This is a two-historic museum that depicts the daily life of early county settlers during the 1700 and 1800’s. The McLendon Cabin (circa 1760) is the county's oldest standing structure in its original location. It is located about a 15-20 min. drive from the Pinehurst traffic circle and is operated by the Moore County Historical Association and the Friends of the Bryant House.

This Park consisting of hundreds of acres of protected land dedicated to world-class equestrian competition holds the annual Stoneybrook Steeplechase on the first Saturday of April. Guided tours are also available.

Carthage Historical Museum
The Carthage Historical Museum provides a permanent home for artifacts covering 200 years of local history. Several exhibits reveal the town's past as the home of a renowned buggy factory, which the town commemorates each May with a popular family festival.

Built around 1772, this 18th century plantation home features a gabled roof, large double shouldered Flemish bond chimneys and a shed porch. Formerly a cotton plantation, the house clearly shows bullet holes resulting from a 1781 skirmish between Whigs and Tories. Admission is free, site inspections may be made year-round, and group tours are welcome. Annual events include a Revolutionary War Battle Reenactment the first weekend in August and a Christmas Open House & Candle lighting celebration in early December.
