Acclaimed as "One of the Ten Best" by Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous magazine, this experience is guaranteed to be memorable. The French Chicken Breast is a favorite specialty.

Where the heated dance floor keeps people bouncing even when the temperature is unseasonably cold; always busy, this well-run restaurant and bar, complete with dancing area, provides great Mexican food, with friendly service and a never-failing spirit of fun. Choose from a vast selection of premium drinks while listening to the strolling Mariachis, which start playing in the morning. The Carnitas (seasoned, twice-cooked pork with salsa and condiments) is excellent.

Thai Smile
Offering a selection of dishes, which includes a free serving of either soup or salad, this established Thai restaurant serves traditional spicy Thai dishes to a happy, desert clientele. The decor itself is spiced with bits and pieces of Thai art, but the greatest artistry is in the kitchen. An early-bird dinner special runs every evening from 4p-6:30p. You might fancy the Red Mountain Shrimp, a fiery combination of shrimp with vegetables in a special sauce. Regular entree prices are very reasonable to moderate for the chef's seafood specials.

Hours of Operation

Tue - Sun at 5:00pm - 10:30pm

No matter how unusual the combination, the sunny golden walls of this intimate, 18-table restaurant seem to reflect the South of France rather than the Austrian origin of its owner and head chef, Johannes Bacher. Johannes brings it all together in a beautifully presented meal. Yellow Beets in balsamic syrup or the Austrian pumpkin seed sauce as an appetizer, both sublime. Lobster in mashed potatoes is the perfect accompaniment for crispy Atlantic Salmon. There is an extensive by-the-glass wine list and an exceptional variety of imported and domestic beers.

Le Vallauris
This classic restaurant earned Zagat Guide's "Best Restaurant in the Valley" designation. Just outside of the Palm Canyon district, most guests prefer to dine on the flower-filled, tree-shaded patio, which is heated or cooled to suit the season. The menu features Pate de Foie Gras, Fish baked with Dijon Mustard Mousseline, and Grilled Veal. Most entrees are in the USD28-38 range. Special requests can be accommodated with one day's notice.

The service is smooth and snappy, the prices moderate, and the drinks well poured. This restaurant, set apart from the main restaurant row on Palm Canyon Drive, is not to be missed. A large, perfect piece of mid-cut salmon covered with a truly memorable Marsala and mushroom sauce, topped with a handful of Langostino tails, is occasionally offered as a special. For dessert, an indulgent Tiramisu will satisfy any sweet tooth cravings.

Fri - Sat at 11:00am - 10:00pm

This classic restaurant is a long-standing favorite for lunch, dinner and a Sunday brunch. Although the restaurant is by no means a discount one, it does offer some unexpectedly low-priced items alongside the more deluxe entrees. The Medallions of Beef Tenderloin come from corn-fed beef and sit beneath a dollop of creamy Bearnaise sauce. If you want something lighter, enjoy one of the sandwiches. The signature Apricot Bundt Cake and the Lemon Lush, a cheese filling inside a walnut crust, topped with lemon; these homemade desserts are wonderful.

This restaurant has moderate prices and a sophisticated atmosphere and is a destination in itself. For those planning a visit to Muriel's nightclub across the street, Kaiser Grille has become a post-dinner favorite. The dark, intimate atmosphere is particularly welcoming to couples, who also enjoy the patio tables. There is a full bar and a wine list with many by-the-glass selections. The Mesquite-grilled Shrimp Pancetta with Coachella Valley Citrus Sauce is a marvel. In addition, the steaks are all excellent and the desserts are decadent.
