Jekyll Island Golf-Great Dunes - 9 Hole Course

Originally built in 1927, the Great Dunes Golf Course iconic status is intact due to the recently completed restoration. The new design incorporates land from the original 9-hole Walter Travis-designed course with land from the former Dick Wilson-designed Oleander course.  Great Dunes Golf Course is reinvigorated due the iconic course's gilded-age roots combined with modern golf course design.  Golfers are taken on a one-of-a-kind journey through across sandy terrain pocked dunes, maritime forest and wetlands adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean.  Stretching to 7,014 from the championship tees, there are four teeing grounds on each scenic hole.  Following Travis's signature design elements, Grand Dunes features amazing contoured greens, strategic bunkering - designed and natural, chocolate drop mounding along fairways and around greens, plus routing that utilizes natural landforms and dunes.
