Lake Lure Golf & Beach Resort's PGA qualifying course and home of the "Western North Carolina Open" Apple Valley, designed by Dan Maples, features well-guarded greens and tight fairways. Golf Digest's "Places to Play" called Apple Valley "one of the most beautiful mountain courses around." Well-positioned bunkers and undulating terrain make this course a favorite for those who like to make tough shots. With 6756 yards of narrow fairways and sloping greens it's as challenging as it is beautiful. No wonder Apple Valley received Golf Digest's rating of four stars and a slope rating of 140.
