Renowned course architects Arthur Hills and Mike Dasher were commissioned to use the abundant Florida topography, thick forests, wetlands and water to create Cypress Head Golf Club - a fair but challenging layout. The golf course is versatile with widely spaced tee areas placed to allow the course to play from under 4900 yards to just over 6800 yards with many risk/reward options off the tee. Fairways are quite generous and the Cypress Head greens are medium-sized, undulating and always in top condition. The course features interesting design characteristics such as back-to-back par-3's on the front 9, and back-to-back par 5's on the back nine. Depending on the Atlantic Ocean breezes, club selection is always key to a good round and best scoring.

Debary Golf And Country Club ($$)

Located between Orlando and Daytona, this scenic and challenging course designed by Lloyd Clifton meanders through rolling hills, large oaks and tall pines. Debary Golf & Country Club has been rated 4-Stars by GOLF DIGEST, and is part of a vibrant semi-private country club community. Most holes are set away from the community by a buffer zone of dense woods and vegetation. The setting is more reminiscent of the Carolinas than Central Florida and The National Audubon Society has certified the club habitat as an official bird sanctuary. The Carolina feel is strengthened more by lack of water. In fact, the course features just one water hazard that comes into play by the 9th and 18th greens. These finishing holes join together and create a beautiful backdrop to the luxurious clubhouse overlooking the finshing holes and large lake. With great course conditions, undulating fairways, and greens that roll true and fast, it's no wonder why DeBary has been consistently chosen as a U.S. Open Qualifying site.
