Debary Golf & Country Club has been rated 4-Stars by GOLF DIGEST, and is part of a vibrant semi-private country club community. Most holes are set away from the community by a buffer zone of dense woods and vegetation. The setting is more reminiscent of the Carolinas than Central Florida and The National Audubon Society has certified the club habitat as an official bird sanctuary. The Carolina feel is strengthened more by lack of water. In fact, the course features just one water hazard that comes into play by the 9th and 18th greens. Designed by Lloyd Clifton and built in 1976, Indigo Lakes is both enjoyable and challenging. Each hole is carved out of a forest of pine and palmetto trees, giving the golfer an experience of solitude and serenity. The course also boasts having the largest greens in Florida, averaging 7,000 sq. ft. each. There are more than 100 bunkers strewn throughout the plush layout and surrounding the slightly elevated, sloping greens. Water comes into play on ten of the holes. In 1994, Indigo Lakes played host to the LPGA Tour's Sprint Championship. Practice facilities: Driving range, putting green, sand trap and chipping area.
