This course may be booked on its own or as part of a "Stay & Play" package. If you are interested in the "Stay & Play" package please see the listing for"Amelia Island Plantation - Stay & Play" on the lodging page for details.

Amelia River (formerly Royal Amelia) is renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth TifEagle greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic live oaks, sabal palms, pines and wax myrtles. This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, which plays to a yardage of 6,823 from the back tees, is always in pristine shape with well-manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play. "This golf course, owned by Amelia Island Plantation", is their only golf course that can be played without staying at the Amelia Island Plantation Resort."

Amelia River consists of 18-holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The first hole at Amelia River is located along the border of the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, as are #5 and #13. These fairways are wide and open giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course. Enjoy these holes while you can because the rest contain individual and groups of trees that, while adding beauty to the course, require cautious ball placement.

Introducing the brand new clubhouse at Amelia River Golf Club Jack B. Healan Jr., president of the Amelia Island Plantation Company had to say, "We are excited to bring these new facilities to our guests and to our community. The clubhouse, with its `golfer-focused' restaurant menu (coming in December), food options and pro shop, will make the Tom Jackson-designed championship course at Amelia River Golf Club an even more inviting place to play."
