Jacksonville Beach Golf Club renovated 10 greens over the past 2 years. The golf course was built back in 1960 and went thru a renovation back in 1987. They have a lighted range, excellent practice facilities, this past May they opened a new 5,000 square foot clubhouse and a new cart facility. Just a mile from the ocean, what makes this course tough and challenging for lower handicap golfers is the prevailing winds that always come into play. Wide-open and flat with very few trees to affect errant shots, Jacksonville Beach makes it fun to learn the game. Bunkers on every hole and several bodies of water also define the course, but distance to the pin is never in question,thanks to Jacksonville Beach's global positioning system (GPS) found on every cart. This 7,050 yard course is the longest at the Grand Club, located in Palm Coast. The Arnold Palmer Signature design Pine Course features rolling fairways and a generous open layout surrounded by native hardwoods, water hazards and high-lipped bunkers protecting large, undulating greens. A fixture among the rankings of Florida's best, the Pine Course has hosted scores of professional and prestigious amateur events and is rated 4-Stars by Golf Digest.

The Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Resort is a Tom Watson Signature design featuring dramatic elevations and undulating greens not commonly found in Florida. With meticulously maintained fairways and immaculate greens, this masterpiece provides tournament conditions every day. Players can't help but be inspired by the view of waterfalls, babbling brooks, veneered field stone work and 140 sand, natural coqina and multiple sod-faced bunkers - a nod to the designer's affinity for British links-style golf.

The Conservatory signature hole is number 8, a challenging Par-3 with an ample island green. The 18th hole, featuring a tee box at an elevation of almost 100 feet, offers great panoramic views of nearly the entire course. With six tee boxes at each hole, the longest playing at 7,746 yards, the course will accommodate all skill levels.

A Gary Player masterpiece, the Cypress Course at Grand Club in Palm Coast gives golfers a variety of scenic backdrops, from pine and hardwood forests reminiscent of the Carolinas to love grass and pot-bunkers that would fit nicely on Scottish Links. The Matanzas Course has been described as a "Beautiful Monster" and has been named one of Golf Digest's "Best New Resort Courses". Perennially ranked as one of Florida's best, the 6,929-yard course weaves through pines, oaks, cypress and many lakes. This Signature course bears the Palmer trademark of rolling fairways, large greens and different strategies for each hole.The Matanzas Course is currently closed during it's mulit-million dollar couse and clubhouse renovation. But they haven't forgotten the kinds of challenges that make golf much more then a game. The meticulously maintained course winds its way through palm, pine, and oak trees, affording spectacular views of Amelia Island's rich natural treasures.

The "KING" himself, Arnold Palmer, designed this formidable golf course just north of Jacksonville and is within minutes of the Jacksonville airport. This par 72 championship design was routed along natural wetlands, large spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders and rolling hills with elevations over 40 feet. The wild grasses and rolling fairways give you the feel of an Old Scottish Links Course. Five sets of tees will enable golfers of all skill levels to choose the level of challenge desired.

Amelia River (formerly Royal Amelia) is renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth TifEagle greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic live oaks, sabal palms, pines and wax myrtles. This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, which plays to a yardage of 6,823 from the back tees, is always in pristine shape with well-manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play. "This golf course, owned by Amelia Island Plantation", is their only golf course that can be played without staying at the Amelia Island Plantation Resort."

Amelia River consists of 18-holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The first hole at Amelia River is located along the border of the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, as are #5 and #13. These fairways are wide and open giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course. Enjoy these holes while you can because the rest contain individual and groups of trees that, while adding beauty to the course, require cautious ball placement.

The Oak Marsh Golf Course is one of the truly classic Pete Dye-designed golf courses in the world. The course, built in 1972 shortly after the completion of the Harbour Town Golf Links at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, is noted for its tight fairways and small greens, meandering along serpentine salt marsh creeks and through the moss draped heritage oaks for which Amelia Island is famous.

At par 72, this 6,500- yard course has 14 holes with water hazards and numerous bulkheaded greens. A variety of bunkers are placed throughout the course to add to the challenge and a natural approach has been maintained as well with the use of coquina shell cart paths, native plant life and preserved habitats for the local wildlife. Walking is allowed after 4:00 pm. Oak Marsh played host to the 1991 PGA Section Championship and 1992 Society of Seniors Championship. In addition, numerous resort tournaments are played here. Oak Marsh has been included in Golf Digest's prestigious list of the "Top 75 Resort Courses in the U.S." Oak Marsh also was selected by Travel & Leisure golf as one of "Florida's 50 Finest Courses."

The 6,841-yard, par-72 layout weaves past pockets of intracoastal marshes and towering pines. The Sawgrass Country Club features 27 holes of championship golf, designed by noted course architect, Ed Seay of Palmer Course Design. Designed by Pete Dye, Bobby Weed, and player consultant Jerry Pate, the Valley Course is the "younger brother" of the Stadium Course. Finished in 1987, the golf course has hosted events such as the SENIOR PLAYERS Championship, the NFL Golf Classic, and the final stage of Senior Qualifying School. Water comes into play on 6,838 yards along 18 holes, while fairways filled with hills and valleys create additional challenges. The Valley Course is a bit milder than its sister course, but it has more undulation in the fairways than the Stadium Course. Because this facility is situated only one mile from the ocean, the wind can become a major factor.
