1. Sugarbush Soaring
See the Mad River Valley the way the birds do-from the air and without an engine. You'll take off from the Sugarbush airport in East Warren in a sleek sailplane piloted by an experienced glider pilot. Like the hawks that wheel above, your pilot will search for the thermals to gain aerodynamic lift while you take in Vermont's most beautiful landscape.
2. Mad River Greens Farmers Market
A festive farmers market, with more than 50 exhibitors, offers locally grown farm products, maple syrup, foods, crafts, wagon rides, and entertainment, operates every Saturday from May through mid-October at mad River Green.
3.
The spring migration will welcome the Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Common Yellowthroat, Indigo Bunting, and Meadowlark back to our Valley. Take a short ride to Audubon Vermont's Green Mountain Audubon Center in nearby Huntington featuring 5 miles of birding trails, a butterfly garden and a sensory trail.
4. Ben and Jerrys Icecream
Today, when small and mid sized farms all across the country are finding it harder to make a living & a life on the land, there are steps we can all take to support the bounty of diversity they bring to our lives.
5. Norman Rockwell Museum of Vermont
Our nationally recognized collection of Norman Rockwell's art, established in 1976, commemorates Norman Rockwell's Vermont years and the entire span and diversity of his career (1911-1978). Chronological display of more than 2,500 Norman Rockwell magazine covers, advertisements, calendars, and other published works shows Rockwell's development as an illustrator and links his work to the political, economic, and cultural history of the United States.
