- Brunswick Town-Fort Anderson Historic Site
Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson is a state historic site located on the Cape Fear River between Wilmington and Southport. During its brief time span citizens from the colonial town fought Indians, pirates, Spanish conquerors and English. Today one can walk the grounds and view the colonial archaeological remains of the town of Brunswick and the earthen works of the civil war fort, Fort Anderson.
